LPG Vessel Management

Liquefied petroleum gas, which is a blend of butane, propane, and other hydrocarbons, is transported using LPG carriers. Unlike LNG, which requires extremely cold temperatures to liquefy, liquefied petroleum gas liquefies at moderate pressures (about 8 bar). Containers for liquefied petroleum gas have high-pressure, spherical or cylindrical tanks. From tiny coastal vessels to larger ocean-going carriers, their sizes are more widely distributed. In contrast, LNG ships are built to transport liquefied natural gas, primarily methane, at extremely low temperatures (-162°C) while reducing its volume by 600 times. The ships are built to carry massive amounts of LNG, which is equal to the fuel tanks of 70,000 vehicles, and have spacious, insulated cargo spaces that resemble futuristic ocean cityscapes.
